Rumbo Explora has been implementing for visitors Fishing activities in lake Titicaca. As first option we are operating with FISHING POLES, and also with FISHING NETS, which are typical in lake Titicaca area. Besides we have 3 tour guides specialized in Biking & Kayaking. Our experienced guides are working for the last 10 years in the highlands of Peru (Puno & surroundings of lake Titicaca). Biking & Kayaking sport is our passion.

Descending from the Andean Range across the Peruvian High Plateau to the Lake Titicaca where live native species like carachi, suche, mauri, boga and ispi. Also the trout which was introduced from Canada and the king fish from Argentina. One of the good things about this activity in Peru you participate with the locals sharing the fishing techniques all year around. To practice fishing you need a cane/fishing rod or nets, water clothes, decoy and rowing boat or minor ship.
Fishing is one of the main activities that bring visitors to the Lake Titicaca all year around, because the water conditions, willow-lined banks, lush vegetation provide ideal habitat for the fish. The communities located on the shores on the Lake Titicaca, as well as the quantity and variety of species in its waters, make of Lake Titicaca a paradise for those who enjoy this sport.
If you like to fish for fun or are really serious, the Lake Titicaca is the best choise. It is not a competitive activity, it does not matter who catches the most fish or how big, the idea is to enjoy the trip, to find peace, to get the best specimen and to give it back to its habitat in the best condition. In Lake Titicaca, the star is the carachi (native species), but the trout is the biggest one found almost 70cm and 6 pounds heavy.
